Twitch recap - January 2025

One of my New Year’s resolutions was to be a little more consistent with my activity on Twitch. Quite often I’ll end up playing games and forgetting to hit that “go live” button, so this year I’m making a concerted effort to keep track of how often I stream, so I can encourage myself to do it more!

Ideally at some point this year I’d like to make it to affiliate status so that I can use channel points and custom emotes to liven up the stream activity. For now, as I’m short of that 50 followers target, I’ve just got Streamer.bot powering a bunch of random commands - if you’re watching live, type !command in the chat box.

In January 2025 I:

• streamed on 7 out of 31 days
• was live for 25 hours and 13 minutes
• gained 3 new followers (thank you! 💜)

Stream archive videos

When you stream on Twitch, they automatically keep a recording of your broadcast for up to 60 days (if you’re an Amazon Prime customer). This can be useful if you want to revisit specific moments from a stream and highlight them as clips.

Because of this retention policy and because I’m not super great at editing my videos in a timely manner, I’ve uploaded the full streams to my YouTube channel. This gives me a chance at least to come back later on if I decide to edit any footage, make montages/shorts, etc.

It’s not something I plan to do right now, but nice to think ahead I guess 😅 Also it saves me filling up my hard drive with gigabytes of video footage.

Wednesday 8th January 2025

Started playing Returnal on PS5.

This game is excellent and I had so much fun I played it all through January until completion.

Saturday 11th January 2025

Continued playing Returnal on PS5.

Continued playing Returnal on PS5 (with a break in between streams to get dinner).

Saturday 18th January 2025

Played the demo of The First Berserker: Khazan on Xbox Series X.

Demo was a lot of fun, I have pre-ordered the game and will play it in April/May once I get back from Japan.

Sunday 19th January 2025

Played the demo of Slitterhead on Xbox Series X.

Had some fun with this, but the demo was quite short and I was on the fence about buying the full game, so we ended up going back to Returnal on PS5.

Wednesday 29th January 2025

Continued playing Returnal on PS5.

Thursday 30th January 2025

Completed Returnal on PS5 🥳

Had a blast with this game, would heartily recommend it to anyone. Reminded me a lot of two of my favourite games - NieR and Control.

One day I’ll come back and get the platinum, but for now I’m done streaming this one.
