Twitch recap - February 2025

I got off to a good start with streaming this year, but February was a bit of a let down as I had a few life events get in the way of becoming more regular. The important thing was that I booked a long weekend off work so I could play the Elden Ring Nightreign network test. This was amazing fun, I am super hyped for the full release in May. Really want to get my hands on the collectors edition too, but Bandai Namco Europe shop is unavailable at present.

My Elden Ring fun kinda ended abruptly at 5am on the Monday morning when I got a notification that my flight to Japan had been cancelled, with a little over 40 days before I was due to fly out! This caused a lot of stress for the following days and I didn’t have the energy to stream after dealing with all that.

And then my mother in law came to visit 😂 So yeah, no streaming for the rest of the month. I did however, spend some time recording unboxing footage of the latest Magic the Gathering set, which was fun to put together as a long form video and shorts, you can check them out here: Aetherdrift unboxing

Stream archive videos

I mentioned in January’s post why I am archiving all my footage. As a result of doing this I’ve noticed quite a dip in the performance of the streams for certain types of games (where there is lots of motion) and so have been experimenting with my setup. Going forward I’ll be streaming in 720p for the most clarity of motion my bandwidth will allow, and recording the stream simultaneously at 1440p, which will allow me to upload to YouTube at much better quality.

Wednesday 5th February 2025

Started playing Dynasty Warriors Origins. Got a good feel for the early part of the game but I need to come back and play more. Unfortunately, the rest of the month was dedicated to one thing… Nightreign!

Friday 14th February 2025

Played the first Elden Ring Nightreign network test session in co-op with my brother and best friend. This is definitely the way to play it.

Saturday 15th February 2025

Due to the PSN version of the network test having an outage on the Friday, an extra session was held on the Saturday, so I ended up playing it three times that day. No co-op with friends sadly, but I had fun and got some wins anyway.

Sunday 16th February 2025

The penultimate day of the Nightreign network test, more fun was had, albeit in a single session with random players.

Monday 17th February 2025

The final session, which was sadly cut short for me due to my flights to Japan being cancelled, I had to log off and deal with that whole problem!
